Newport Past - The History of the City of Newport in South East Wales UK
Accommodation in and Around Newport

If you are planning a trip to Newport, Cardiff or the South East of Wales and looking for somewhere to stay you may find this list helpful.

There is much to see and do in the area. The Celtic Manor Resort golf courses, host of the 2010 Ryder Cup are nearby. There are many ancient monuments to visit including Roman remains, Norman castles, Saint Fagans and our more recent industrial heritage such as Big Pit National Coal Museum. The beautiful Usk Valley, Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons are waiting to be explored. Then there are the many concert venues including the Millennium Stadium, CIA (Cardiff International Arena), Saint Davids Hall, The Point, Newport Centre, TJs and the Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre.

Newport has been included in the counties of Monmouthshire and Gwent but is now known as simply Newport, South Wales.
