A small article in the Western Mail, Monday 2nd April 1923, reported:

"In the physical culture competitions at Newport for the cups presented by Mrs. C. H. Bailey, C.B.E., and Mr. Peter Wright, J.P., Eveswell Boys' School won in the boys' section and Bolt-Street Girls' School in the girls' section. They will each hold the respective cup for a year."
