Pathe News Description:
Several shots of the carnival procession passing along the crowded Newport street. Float with the Queen of the Carnival moves along the crowded street. Children dance down the street followed by a procession of cars and floats. A nice float with coach and horses made of white flowers.

Commentary:
Carnival, fun and frolic - a blaze of colour - with the cavalry leading a guard of honour, as it were, for the Queen Of Queens, this time Miss Cresswell of Newport. In the wake of Her Majesty, dancers tripping the Light Fantastic add to the gaiety of the scene. All this in the aid of charity to help the Royal Gwent Hospital. Everybody and everything doing their best... except the weather!

Comment:
Filmed from High Street looking towards Westgate Square, Commercial Street.
