Sir Abraham Garrod Thomas

Thomas, Sir Abraham Garrod was born at Panteryrod, near Aberayron, Cardiganshire, 5th October, 1853. Educated at Milford Haven, Edinburgh, Berlin and Vienna. Is M.D. (Edin.) member of the Court Univ. of Wales, Junior Vice-president University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. Chairman of the Local Advisory Committee during the war. Is a Congregationalist and Liberal in politics. Was High Sheriff of Cardiganshire 1900-1. Is a Deputy Lieutenant for Monmouthshire and Justice of the Peace for Monmouthshire, Cardiganshire and Newport Borough. Knight Bachelor 1912. Chairman of Directors Royal Gwent Hospital since 1904.
