Tram Inspector Jack Evans And Driver Will Chapman

Newport Corporation Tramways Inspector Jack Evans (1868-1964) and Tram Driver William George Chapman (1883-1939), both in full uniform, standing alongside a tram.

The two men were brothers in law, their wives were sisters (Alice and Bessie Bale).

Jack Evans retired from Newport Trams in 1937; Will Chapman died in service in 1939 aged 56.
